44 . RamanMicro 300 Getting Started Guide
Connecting the RamanMicro 300 to the Spectrometer
Module
The microscope is connected to the spectrometer module in the RamanStation or RamanFlex
by two fiber optic cables. The excitation fiber transmits the laser energy from the
spectrometer to the microscope, and the collection cable transmits the collected Raman data
back to the detector.
NOTE: A RamanFlex 400 provides two sets of connectors. For a RamanFlex 400F, either set
can be used; for a RamanFlex 400, only the left-hand set should be used to connect
a RamanMicro 300.
1. Connect the excitation cable (L1323331) from the Raman module to the EXC coupler on
the rear panel of the spectrometer.
Ensure that the end of the fiber with the white cable marker is attached to the Raman
module.
Try to bend the fiber as little as possible. If you bend the fiber through a
tight angle this can damage the fiber.
