Attaching the Z-axis Focus Motor and Sleeve
NOTE: If you have the optional Raman microscope light-proof enclosure, you may find it
easier to attach the z-axis focus motor and sleeve before fitting the enclosure. If you
install the enclosure first, you will need to pass the cable through the enclosure. See
Raman Microscope Light-Proof Enclosure

1. Slide the focus motor sleeve over the z-axis drive control on the left side of the
microscope, and then tighten the connections using an allen key.
OR
Push the focus motor into the sleeve until it touches the drive control, and then tighten
the screw to finger tight.
2. Connect the 9 pin connector from the focus motor into the 9 pin connector end of the
z-axis adaptor cable (L1321689), and then connect the other end into the MOTOR Z
connector on the rear of the stage controller box (Figure 13).
