1. Turn off the computer, and remove the battery
2. Loosen the heat sink screws
a. Remove the cover and

b. Remove the 3 screws in
the order indicated.

CPU Heat Sink Screws
In order to prevent damage to the
CPU it is very important that the
heat sink screws are loosened in
the correct order.
There are numbers printed on the
heat sink. The order in which the
screws should be loosened, de-
pends on whether you are re-
moving the CPU, or installing the
CPU.
When REMOVING the heat sink
unit loosen the screws in the or-
der 3, 2, 1 (as printed on the heat
sink). Figure b indicates the correct
order to loosen the screws when re-
moving the heat sink unit.
