5.10 Upgrading the system software

The system software saved in the control box can be upgraded.
The system software saved in the control box is software for use with either analog PBXs or digital PBXs. You can
determine which software is saved to the control box by checking the suffix of the serial number label attached to the
control box. (Refer to 7.5.2 Serial number suffixes (Page 89) for information on suffixes and the types of PBX
software available.)
If the type of software saved to the control box does not match the type of PBX being used, download the type of
system software that matches the PBX type to the control box. (Updating is not required if the type of PBX and system
software match.)
Download new system software
1. Download the system software update file.
R Refer the information on the following web site.

2. Copy the update file to the root path of an SD card.
Upgrade the system software
1. Turn off the control box.
2. Insert the SD card containing the update file into the control box.
3. While pressing and holding the MFUNCTIONN button, turn on the control box. Do not release the button yet.
4. Wait for about 20 seconds until the control box's MPOWERN and MACCESSN indicators flash quickly, and then
release the MFUNCTIONN button.
R When the update is complete, the control box's MACCESSN indicator lights. (This may take about 20 minutes.)
Note:
R If you have configured or edited the system settings, back up the current configuration files with the following steps
before upgrading the system software.
1. Back up the currently used configuration files (page 50).
2. Upgrade the system software (page 78).
3. Upload the configuration files using the Upload the data to device function (page 47) of the setup tool.

5.11 Restarting a device

You can restart the control box, distribution box, or lift controller by pressing its reset button ( ).
