When the measuring target is strain gage transducer
The rated output ( m/m) of the KYOWA strain gage transducer is described in the Test Data Sheet.
Capable of conducting the optimum internal gain setting by using the rated output. If the strain output is not
described in the rated output, the strain output can be obtained from the gage factor Ks
Rated Output ( V/V) ×
Suppose when using the strain gage transducer with the rated output 1567 V/V and gage factor 2.00.
Follows are the setting procedures of the optimum internal gain.
1) Set the DPM-900/950 series to the normal mode. (When the TEDS or ACTL LOAD switch is lighting
up, press and hold the either switch to light out.)
2) Connect the strain gage transducer and conduct bridge check.
3) Calculate the rated output ( m/m). The rated output at that time is 1567 × 2 = 3134 m/m
4) Set the CAL switch to "3134."
5) Set the VOLTAGE OUT switch to "10.00" (10 V).
6) Press the SET switch twice.
7) Press the BAL switch twice. (The DPM-900/950 series becomes measuring state after balancing.)
While correctly setting the internal gain,
When
appears on the monitor, it is indicating the setting error. Read "9-4 TROUBLE
SHOOTING."
In addition, when using the strain gage transducer with the half or less of the rated capacity, increase the
sensitivity 2 times or more to decrease the noise.
For example, when using the strain gage transducer with the 20 % of the rated capacity, the rated output
can be obtained 3134 × 20% =626.8 ( m/m) only. Keep 10.00 of the VOLTAGE OUT switch, set the CAL
switch to "0627" and set the internal gain for more accurate measurement.

5-7-2 Setting Internal Gain with TEDS

When the measuring target is the TEDS-installed strain gage transducer, the DPM-900/950 series can load
the TEDS information and set the internal gain easily. TEDS information that is used in the DPM-900/950
series is the rated output ( m/m), rated capacity and recommended excitation voltage range.
Follows are the setting procedures of the optimum internal gain.
1) Set the DPM-900/950 series to the TEDS mode. (Press and hold the TEDS switch to lights up.)
2) Connect the TEDS-installed strain gage transducer to the input and conduct bridge check.
3) Set the VOLTAGE OUT switch to the desired voltage.
4) Press the SET switch twice.
5) Press the BAL switch twice. (The DPM-900/950 series becomes measuring state after balancing.)
While correctly setting the internal gain,

Physical value (converted value from the voltage) is displayed on the monitor in TEDS mode.
For displaying the voltage on the monitor, press and hold the TEDS switch to become the
normal mode.
(Though the TEDS switch lights out, the setting contents are maintained.)
Pressing the SET switch in TEDS mode appears
Above are the rated output and rated capacity that are set to the DPM-900/950 series.
For example, when using a TEDS-installed transducer with rated output 3134 m/m and rated
capacity 4678 N. When setting the internal gain with the TEDS, press and hold the SET switch
