1-2 SYSTEM CONFIGURATION

This section describes a general system configuration when using the DPM-900/950 series for
measurement.
Strain Gage
(60 to 1000 ohm)
Bridge Box
Strain Gage
Transducer
(60 to 1000 ohm)
The DPM-900/950 series adopt the system configuration shown above, whereby it's input terminal
connects with a strain gage transducer or a strain gage. For connection of the latter, a bride box is used
generally. The DPM-900/950 series amplifies minute signals sensed by a strain gage, and provides an
output of several volts after amplification in general cases. This allows connection of the DPM-900/950
series directly to a recorder or a voltmeter.
To measure a strain converted in electric signals, a calibration signal is used. The DPM-900/950 series uses
a calibration signal that has been certified through a standardizing equipment KYOWA maintains.
For how to use strain gages or how to obtain the stress, read "9. Appendix."
