5-4 BRIDGE CHECK

The DPM-900/950 series provides a bridge check function. This function is used to check cable breaking
on the whole input system, including the input cable and connector.
Press and hold the BAL switch to conduct the bridge check.
The result of the check is indicated on the monitor.
This indication is maintained while pressing the BAL switch.
If an indication other than
the wiring to and from the sensor.
Otherwise, a correct measurement cannot be carried out.
To remove the cause, act as follows.
First, turn OFF the power, and then remove the sensor cable from the input connector. After that, carry out
a check on cable breaking.
NOTE
If the breaking exists in the input cable, correct measurement cannot be conducted.
When connecting sensor to the input or changing the sensors, be sure to bridge check and set the
internal gain.
Be sure to turn OFF the DPM-900/950 series before checking and mending the error.
Do not conduct the bridge check function with the Rotary Transformer Torque Transducer
connected.
As a matter of convenience, the wirings to the bridge are
named as shown in the figure in the right. If error is found

appear on the monitor. Even if error exists on two wirings,
the name of only one wiring will be shown. Therefore,
check wirings one after another as follows.
To begin with, check the wiring whose name is on the
monitor to remove the cause. After that, press and hold the
BAL switch again, and the error indication will then
disappear if there is no more error. If another or other
wirings are in error, the name of the next wiring will be
shown by

Check the sensor and the indication wiring to the sensor,
then remove the cause of error one by one so that no error
indication will appear finally. For the relation between
locations of error and error indications, read "9-1 BRIDGE
CHECK FUNCTION AND RESULT INDICATION."
The result of bridge check is available as bridge status
signals at the converging connector on the rear panel. For
details, read "5-12 CENTRALIZED CONNECTOR."
NOTE
Be sure to turn OFF the DPM-900/950 series before mending the cause.
