4. BASIC OPERATION

This chapter describes the basic operation of the DPM-900/950 series.
The instructions given in this chapter is related to the usage of a single unit.
MEMO
For operation of multiple channels using the exclusive carrying case, read "6-5 EXCLUSIVE
CARRYING CASE."

4-1 CONNECTION OF INPUT

Connect a strain gage (via a bridge box) or a strain
gage transducer to the DPM-900/950 series' INPUT
connector.
Configure a Wheatstone Bridge with the strain gage(s)
and the bridge box.
If one end of the connection cable of a strain gage
transducer is formed by a NDIS connector, insert it
into the INPUT connector directly as shown at right.
If the connection cable of a strain gage transducer comes without the NDIS connector on its end or if a
strain gage is to be connected directly, either of the following 2 methods can be used.
1) When using the bridge box for connection
Read "6-1 BRIDGE BOX."
2) When connecting the strain gage to the plug in advance
A connection method is shown in the right. The plug is NDIS
connector PRC03-12A10-7M10 (TAJIMI).
For connection of a strain gage, a bridge box of full bridge
method

can be conveniently used.
MEMO
For the E terminal, read "9-5 E TERMINAL OF
INPUT CONNECTOR."
Wire colors described in figures are typical colors of
KYOWA strain gage transducer.
NOTE
Do not connect a remote sensing sensor to the DPM-900/950 series. The F terminal and G terminal are
input terminals dedicated for the TEDS.
When connecting the cable, hold the plug and
push it in the jack.
When disconnecting, pull the plug toward you.
