DPM-900/950 series for simultaneous measurement of strain on multiple measuring points. Carrier
synchronization is for prevention of beats
When measuring strains with the OSC synchronization, set any one of the DPM-900/950 series as the
master (use the internal OSC) and set others as slaves (use the external OSC).
Capable of setting whether to use the internal OSC or external OSC by "Setting Switch 1" and "Setting
Switch 2" on the rear panel.
• When automatically determining (AUTO) the internal or external
When "Setting Switch 1" is set to OFF (AUTO), the OSC terminal voltage is checked when turning ON
the DPM-900/950 series and automatically determines the internal (INT) or external (EXT).
• When manually (MANU) setting the internal or external
When manually setting the internal (INT) or external (EXT), set "Setting Switch 1" to ON (MANU).
For using the internal OSC, set "Setting Switch 2" to OFF (INT).
For using the external OSC, set "Setting Switch 2" to ON (EXT).
To achieve OSC synchronization, proceed as follows. (In the following procedure explanation, the
DPM-900/950 series is referred DPM).
1) Turn OFF all DPM.
2) Connect all OSC terminals in parallel. Connect a + terminal to another + terminal, and connect a –
terminal to another – terminal.
The YC-A series exclusive carrying case (option) achieves automatic connection of all OSC terminals
internally. So it is a great convenience.
3) Set "Setting Switch 1" of the DPM to ON (MANU) and "Setting Switch 2" to OFF (INT) which is to be
the master.
4) Set all "Setting Switch 1" of the DPM of non-master (slave) to OFF (AUTO).
If you previously turn ON the DPM which will be set to slave, it needs to be set "Setting Switch 1" and
"Setting Switch 2" to ON (MANU-EXT).
5) Turn ON the DPM that setting to master first. The INT lamp of DPM operating as the master lights up.
Then turn ON the DPM that setting to slave.
MEMO
To set the automatically identified DPM as the master, turn on the power before the slave.
To set up a master or slave regardless of when the power is turned ON, set it manually.
