All the settings of the MIB relay, together with the procedures to change their value, are described in this chapter. First of
all, a complete list of settings is shown; including ranges, units, step and factory default value. Then, the settings requiring
more detailed comments are individually explained. In the ENERVISTA MII SETUP program, the settings are grouped
under the Setpoint menu, Setpoint sub-menu entry.
The MIB relay provides two settings groups (group 2 is accessible in the ADVANCED SETTINGS group), stored in
EEPROM memory (permanent memory). Using a setting or through a communications command , it is possible to select
which group is active, and then used by the relay protection algorithms.
Settings can be accessed and modified either using the relay faceplate keypad, or using a computer connected to the
relay through any of the relay communications ports, and the ENERVISTA MII SETUP program. The use of the keypad to
modify settings is described in Chapter 8. If the computer is used to handle the settings, the following steps must be
considered:
Make sure your communication cable matches the scheme shown in Figure 3–14:
Connect the communications cable between the relay (or modem) and the computer serial port.
Run the ENERVISTA MII SETUP program. The procedure to install and use the ENERVISTA MII SETUP program is
described in section 1.2.2 and in section 4.
Make sure that the communications parameters in the relay match the ENERVISTA MII SETUP configuration settings
(Communication - Computer Menu). The communications parameters shown in the relay faceplate display, within the
configuration menu are:
Comm Password
Comm Baud Rate
Slave Address
For instructions on how to check and modify ENERVISTA MII SETUP program communications parameters please refer
to chapter 4.
Check that the relay number and password in the MIB display match the numbers entered in the dialog window of the
ENERVISTA MII SETUP, after clicking on Relay Connection.
