7 PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION

7.1. General

The information in this section point out the items to
be checked when performing daily, weekly and time
based maintenance and inspections required on JLG
aerial work platforms.
NOTE
This material does not replace any pre-
operational checks required by the owner or
a local or state safety board.
NOTE
State regulations require that written, dated
and sig ned i nspection reco rds are
maintained.
NOTE
Perform lubrication as outlined in section 8.
The control and maintenance procedures described in
this chapter require specific competences. We
recommend that these operations are performed only
by authorised and qualifed personnel.
If you have any queries concerning control and
maintenance procedures, please contact your JLG
distributor.
Certain operations require removal of covers or
protection housings. All covers or protection housings
must be installed before returning the work platform to
service.
Work platform cleaning :
! CAUTION
During cleani ng, the battery must be
disconnected from the work platform circuit,
the charger must be disconnected from the
power supply, the 220 V power socket on the
platform (option) must be disconnected.
External cleaning :
Clean the work platform with an appropriate cleaning
chemical mixed with water (water spray, sponge,
cloths)
! CAUTION
High pressure cleaning can only be used with
a maximum pressure o f 50 bar an d a
maximum temperature of 70°C.

! CAUTION
Do not spray directly on :
- Electrical boxes and components,
- The electronic controller,
- The battery,
- The charger,
- The hydraulic unit motors,
- Cylinder rods and seals,
- Lifting chains.
Dry thoroughly the work platform (compressed air,
cloths...) and lubricate as indicated (§ 8) before the
work platform is returned to service.
