Sensor Settings

Select the Settings tab from the top, then click Sensor Settings.
The Sensor Settings page configures the NVR's sensor inputs and their trigger settings, the relay outputs, and fault statuses.
Sensor Inputs: Select the number of sensor inputs, between
1 to 8, from the dropdown menu for which you would like to
configure.
Name: Enter a name for each sensor input in this field.
Restrictions: Only alphanumeric characters are allowed with
a maximum length of 15 characters. Names with a single
space and "_" (underscore) are also accepted.
Action: Select the action that occurs for each sensor input
when triggered. The action configured here is used for
recording various types of events as described below:
◦ Metadata: If a sensor input is configured as Metadata,
then an Event will not be recorded when that sensor
input is triggered. Trigger status (Active/Inactive) entry
will be found in Metadata Log only. Metadata Action
is ACTIVE HIGH.
◦ Timed Event: If a sensor input is configured as Timed
Event, then an Event will be recorded for the (Pre +
Post) time duration set under the Recording Settings
page when that sensor input is triggered. Trigger
status (Active/Inactive) entry will also be found in
Metadata Log. The Timed Event Action is ACTIVE
HIGH.
◦ Event While Active: If a sensor input is configured as
Event While Active, then an Event will be recorded
for the (Pre + Active + Post) time duration set under
the Recording Settings Page when that sensor input
is triggered. Trigger status (Active/Inactive) entry
ROADRECORDER® 9000 USER GUIDE
will also be found in Metadata Log. The Event While
Active Action is ACTIVE HIGH.
◦ Start Event: If a sensor input is configured as Start
Event, then an Event will be recorded for (Pre +
Active) until a Stop Event is triggered. If one Start
Event is selected, then one Stop Event should also be
selected. Trigger status (Active/Inactive) entry will also
be found in Metadata Log. The Start Event Action is
ACTIVE HIGH.
◦ Stop Event: If a sensor input is configured as Stop
Event, then all Start Event triggers will stop recording.
Stop Event can only be selected with Start Event.
Trigger status (Active/Inactive) will also be found in
Metadata Log. The Stop Event Action is ACTIVE HIGH.
◦ Backup Power Event: If using an external UPS, select
the Backup Power Event action for sensor input 7
(only sensor input 7 can be configured as Backup Power
Event.) Backup Power Event will not record audio /
video streams. Set timer for Backup Power Duration
(1 to 15 mins). When timer expires, NVR will shut down.
If trigger becomes active in between, timer will be
aborted. The Backup Power Event Action is ACTIVE
LOW.
◦ Power Fail Event: Only sensor input 7 can be
configured as Power Fail Event. NVR will shut down
as soon as vehicle power is failed. The Power Failed
Event is ACTIVE HIGH.
