2.8 Tip Dresser

2.8.1 Introduction

General
The Tip Dresser is intended to restore the original shape of the welding electrodes
after deformation that occurs after a period of use.
The Tip Dresser is controlled by the robot controller. The unit is mounted onto the
base of the manipulator and is connected to the robot.
The Tip Dresser unit
The ABB Tip Dresser, which is integrated to the robot consists of the following
modules (see Figure 70).
