Pull out the choke shaft (23).

Remove the spring (22).

Assembling the Carburetor

9.4.1 Installing the Choke Shaft

Fit the spring (22) on the choke shaft so that its bent

end (arrow) engages the lever on the choke shaft
(23).
Push the choke shaft (23) into the carburetor (10) so
N
that the straight end of the spring (22) engages the
bore (arrow).

Pull the choke shaft (23) until its annular groove
N
(arrow) is outside the bore.
Fit the clip (34) in the groove (arrow) in the choke
N
shaft (23).
Insert and tighten down the screw (35).

Push choke knob (37) onto shaft (23) so that it snaps
N
into place.

Rotate the choke shaft (23) clockwise and hold it so
N
that its flat side faces outwards.
Fit the choke shutter (20) so that the number (arrow)
N
is visible and the small hole (arrow) is closed by the
choke shaft.
Coat thread of screw (21) with Loctite 242.

Insert the screw (21) but do not tighten it down yet.
N
Close the choke shutter (20).
N
This centers the choke shutter (20) in the carburetor's
bore.
Tighten down the screw (21).
N
Open and close the choke shutter (20) several times.
N
If the choke shutter (20) sticks:
Center it again.

9.4.2 Installing the Accelerator Pump and Throttle Shaft

Fit the spring (39) in the carburetor (10).

Fit the sealing ring (45) in the groove in the pump
N
piston (44).
Push the pump piston (44) into the carburetor (10) so
N
that its blunt faces the spring (46).
Fit the spring (39) on the throttle shaft (38) so that its
N
bent end (arrow) engages the lever on the throttle
shaft (38).
Push the bushing (40) onto the throttle shaft (38).
N
Push the sealing ring (42) into the ring (41).
