Fit the valve springs (4) over the valve stems.
N
Fit the valve spring retainers (3) over the valve stems
N
and push them sideways so that they engage the
grooves in the valve stems.
Install rocker arms, @ 18.6.
N
Install crankshaft (11) with piston (13), @ 20.8.
N
Install engine pan (8) and oil seals (10 and 12), @
N

Lubricate lips of oil seals (10 and 12) with
N
multipurpose grease.

Push the oil seals (10 and 12) onto the crankshaft
N
stubs so that their open sides face the crankshaft (11)
and their outboard sides are flush with the cylinder
wall.
Apply bead of sealant to sealing face of engine pan
N
(8) (a = 2 - 3 mm (0.08 - 0.12 in)).
Fit the engine pan (8) in position.
N
Insert screws (9) and initially tighten them alternately
N
in crosswise pattern.
Finally tighten the screws (9) alternately in crosswise
N
pattern.
Install inner blower housing, @ 17.7.
N
Install the blower wheel, @ 17.8.
N
Install outer blower housing and elbow, @ 17.9.
N
Install the backplate, @ 10.12.
N
Install the airflow shroud, @ 14.3.
N
Install the filter housing and carburetor, @ 8.3.
N
Install the air filter, @ 7.3.
N
BR 800
Install the shroud, @ 7.5.
N
Install the rewind starter, @ 6.14.
N
