Special Servicing Tools, Servicing Aids

Screwdriver – 0000 890 2300 or equivalent
Socket, T27x125 – 0812 542 2104 or equivalent
Socket, T20 – 0812 542 2041 or equivalent
Torque wrench – 5910 890 0302 or equivalent
Screwdriver, T20 – 5910 890 2301 or equivalent
Screwdriver, T27x200 – 5910 890 2415 or equivalent
Punch-down tool – 5910 890 4000
Flat nose side cutting pliers
STIHL multipurpose grease – 0781 120 1110
15.2

Removing the Control Handle

Preparations, @ 3.1.
N
Take out the screws (8b).
N
Pull the handle (2 and 7) off the clamp (17 and 18).
N
Take out the screws (8a).
N
Remove the handle molding (7).
N
Remove the cam (10) together with the spring (3).
N
Unhook and remove the spring (3).
N
Disconnect and remove the torsion spring (6) from
N
the lever (9).
Take out the throttle lever (4) together with the lever
N
(9).
Disconnect throttle cable (12) from the lever (9).
N
BR 800

M5x32 (1 Nm / 9 lbf. in.)

Take the lever (9) off the throttle lever (4).
N
If necessary: Take out the setscrew (5).
N
Disconnect flag terminal of yellow wire.
N
Remove the yellow wire.
N
Remove the black wire together with the contact
N
spring (11).
Pull the contact spring (11) off the black wire.
N
Remove the throttle cable (12).
N
Unlock retaining lugs of setting lever (1) and take out
N
the setting lever (1).

Fitting the Control Handle

Lubricate opening for setting lever (1) in handle (2)
N
with STIHL multipurpose grease 0781 120 1110.
Push setting lever (1) into the handle (2) so that the
N
retaining lugs snap into place.
