STIHL multipurpose grease – 0781 120 1110
HT red silicone sealant – 0783 830 2000
Loctite 270 (high-strength threadlocking adhesive) –

Removing the Collar Studs

Preparations, @ 3.1.
N
Remove the cover, @ 7.4.
N
Remove the spark plug (1).
N
Remove the valve cover, @ 18.2.
N
Remove rocker arms, @ 18.2.
N
Unscrew the collar stud (4).
N
Clean threads in cylinder and on collar studs (4).
N

Installing the Collar Studs
If the original studs (4) are re-used: Coat threads of

collar studs (4) with Loctite 270.
Insert and tighten down the collar studs (4).

Install rocker arms, @ 18.2.
N
Adjust valve clearance, @ 12.2.
N
Install valve cover, @ 18.6.
N
Install the spark plug (1).
N
Install the cover, @ 7.4.
N

Removing the Engine Pan and Oil Seals
Preparations, @ 3.1.
N
Remove the rewind starter, @ 6.2.
N
Remove the air filter, @ 7.2.
N
Remove the shroud, @ 7.4.
N
Remove filter housing and carburetor, @ 8.2.
N
Remove the airflow shroud, @ 14.2.
N
Remove the backplate, @ 10.9.
N
Remove outer blower housing and elbow, @ 17.4.
N
Remove the blower wheel, @ 17.5.
N
Remove inner blower housing, @ 17.6.
N
Take out the screws (9).
N
