7.7 Repairing the diaphragm monitoring sensor

When changing the diaphragm, unscrew the diaphragm monitoring
sensor from the dosing head.

Check for electrical continuity:

Using a blunt insulating probe (Ø 2 ... 3 mm, no sharp edges), press
into the channel of the diaphragm monitoring sensor.
ð Check that there is no electrical continuity.
4.
Release the pin.
ð Electrical continuity must be re-established.
5.
Repeat this test once again.
6.
If everything is working correctly, screw the diaphragm rupture
sensor into the dosing head with a new seal (1).

If not, proceed to the next section.

Disconnect the diaphragm monitoring sensor from the power

supply.

When changing the diaphragm, unscrew the diaphragm monitoring

sensor from the dosing head.

Grip the top part (2) of the diaphragm monitoring sensor.

Hold the sensor body (5) in place with an open-ended spanner.

Screw in the diaphragm monitoring sensor.
6.
Clean the contaminated parts.

7.
Place the new separating diaphragm (3) with the light side (PTFE)
first into the top part (2).
8.
Lay the plate (4) with the uneven side first into the top part (2).
9.
Screw the sensor body (5) into the top part and tighten.
10.
Check the diaphragm monitoring sensor, as described above,
Ä 'Checking the diaphragm monitoring sensor' on page 40 .
11.
If the diaphragm monitoring sensor does not operate clearly and
reliably, then it is essential that a new diaphragm monitoring sensor
is used.
