6.1 Bleeding the liquid end

Replace the sealing screw on the oil filler neck with the vent screw sup‐
plied - refer to the chapter entitled "Overview of equipment and control ele‐
ments".
Slight oil marks on the pump do not indicate leaks with a
new product.
Wipe away and note down oil positions. Only con‐
tact the supplier if it reoccurs.
When the pump is idle, check whether the pump oil level is at the
centre of the oil level indicator.
ð A lack of oil can lead to damage.
1.
Set the stroke length of the pump to "0" and start up the pump.
2.
If you need to immediately work at 100 % capacity at low tempera‐
tures: allow the pump to warm up for 10 ...20 minutes.
You must expect a 50 % reduced capacity at the
start at -20 °C.
3.
Set the stroke length of the pump to the required value.
When bleeding the liquid end or priming against pressure:
1.
Depressurise the suction and discharge line.
2.
With unknown feed chemicals, take suitable protective measures as
per the material safety data sheet.
3.
Loosen the discharge line.
4.
Fit a section of transparent hose.
5.
Run the pump slowly until the feed chemical appears in the section
of hose.
6.
Dismantle the section of hose.
7.
Fit the discharge line.
The stroke control drive is calibrated to the capacity ordered ex-factory.
Please contact ProMinent if you wish the stroke control drive to be cali‐
brated to another capacity.
