7.8 Calibrating the dosing rate

Checking the diaphragm rupture sensor
1.
When changing the diaphragm, unscrew the diaphragm rupture
sensor from the dosing head.

Check that the monitor does not indicate a diaphragm rupture:

Using a blunt insulating probe (Ø 2 ... 3 mm, no sharp edges), press
into the channel of the diaphragm rupture sensor.
ð The monitor device must indicate a diaphragm rupture.
4.
Release the pin again.
ð The monitor must no longer indicate a diaphragm rupture.
5.
Repeat the test several times.
6.
If everything is working correctly, screw the diaphragm rupture
sensor into the dosing head with a new seal (1).
7.
If not, go to the next section.
Replacing the separating diaphragm of the diaphragm rupture sensor

Disconnect the diaphragm rupture sensor from the monitor.

When changing the diaphragm, unscrew the diaphragm rupture

sensor from the dosing head.

Grip the top part (2) of the diaphragm rupture sensor.

Do not tamper with the lacquer-coated nut.

Hold the body (5) in place with an open-ended spanner.

Unscrew the diaphragm rupture sensor.

Clean the contaminated parts.

Lay the new separating diaphragm (3) with the light side (PTFE) first
into the top part (2).

Place the disc (4) into the top part (2).
9.
Place the spring inside the body (5).
10.
Move the body (5) close to the top part (2).
ð Make sure that the spring (6) sits correctly on the spring seat
(3a).
11.
Screw the body (5) into the top part and tighten.
12.
Connect the diaphragm rupture sensor back to the monitor.
13.
Check the diaphragm rupture sensor as described in "Checking the
diaphragm rupture sensor".
14.
If the diaphragm rupture sensor does not operate clearly and reli‐
ably, then it is essential that a new diaphragm rupture sensor is
used.
Regularly clean the display.
It is only worth calibrating the dosing rate if you wish to carry out particu‐
larly precise metering at a significantly different back pressure.
