Failure of the power supply

If the external power supply fails (mains power sup-
ply or external battery), the device automatically
switches to the internal battery power supply. If the
battery is fully charged, the device can continue to
operate for about 60 minutes.
If the power supply fails completely, the device trig-
gers a power supply failure alarm (continuous
tone). The ventilation settings and the alarm limits
remain saved even in the event of a power supply
failure.
 Restore the power supply immediately,
see page 48.
Or:
 Disconnect the patient from the device and im-
mediately resume ventilation using another, in-
dependent ventilator.

Failure of the gas supply

If the O
supply fails, the device replaces the miss-
2
ing O
portion with ambient air and generates an
2
alarm. The minute volume remains constant. The
inspiratory O
concentration falls to 21 Vol%.

If the patient requires a higher O
 Restore the O
supply immediately.

If the turbine fails:
The device can no longer ventilate.
 Disconnect the patient from the device and im-
mediately resume ventilation using another, in-
dependent ventilator.
