Power supply

The power supply is connected with the power supply terminal, also refer to the circuit diagram examples in the
appendix (9.7 Example circuits).
Figure 4: Power supply terminal
The power supply can be single phase or two phase, with a mains frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz.
The cross sections of the supply cables must be rated for a power consumption of 50 A.
The terminals are rate for cables from 1.5 mm² to 16 mm². Rigid and flexible conductors can be used. We recom-
mend using wire end ferrules.
The device has to be supplied with power through an on-site power transformer (transformer station). A direct con-
nection to the public low voltage power supply is not permitted. The device is intended for industrial applications.
The PE conductor must always be connected. Local earthing has to be selected.
The rules as per the VDE DIN 100 series of standards applies for electrical wiring.
The supply voltage for the control unit is 200 V AC ±10 %, 230 V AC ±10 % or 400 V AC ±10 %.
The power supply connection for the control unit has to be fitted with a circuit breaker with a current rating of 32 A.
An appropriate disconnection characteristic has to be ensured.
4.2.1

Singe phase power supply

For single phase operation, the conductor has to be connected to terminal 1 and earth has to be connected to
terminal 2.
When using a plug-in connector for power supply of the control unit, a plug-in connection as per IEC 60309 must
be used (CEE plug connection).
Swapping of conductor and earth must be excluded. In case of an incorrect connection, the error message E1005
"IGBT Fault U" will be displayed.
4.2.2

Two phase power supply

For two phase power supply, conductors 1 and 2 have to be connected to terminals 1 and 2.
When using a plug-in connector for power supply of the control unit, a plug-in connection as per IEC 60309 must
be used (CEE plug connection). Swapping of conductors 1 and 2 is permitted.

NOTE!
The electrical connection ratings on site has to correspond to the information
on the device label (see 9.2 Type plate).
