If the clamping process was successful, "Clamped lev. xx" is shown on the display and the enable relays (pins
37/39 and 38/40) are closed. The red lamp goes to "off" and the green lamp goes to "on" state (pins 13/15 and
14/16).
If an error has occurred, the enable relays are not closed and an error message is shown on the display. The red
lamp goes to "on" and the green lamp goes to "off" state (pins 13/15 and 14/16).
Completion of the clamping process is signalled on the control interface with "Task end" pin 12.
5.5.2

Reducing

Reducing is a special type of clamping. It takes place whenever a higher and then a lower holding force are used
for clamping. This reduces the holding force to the lower level without requiring complete demagnetising which
would otherwise be required.
5.5.3

Releasing (demagnetising)

The following steps have to be carried out to start the release process:
1. The "Input enable" signal (pin 6) of the control interface has to be on potential high.
2. The "Impulse demagnetising" signal (pin 10) of the control interface has to be on potential high for at least 0.5 s.
At the start of the release process, the enable relays (pins 37/39 and 38/40) open.
"Demag. prog. xx" is shown on the display during the release process (see 9.3.2 Clamping/releasing). Pins 13/15
and 14/16 for light red/green on the connector alternate between on/off state.
Completion of the release process is signalled on the control interface with "Task end" pin 12. The red lamp goes
to "on" and the green lamp goes to "on" state (pins 13/15 and 14/16). The display shows "Demag. prog. xx".
NOTE!
Depending on the magnet and the workpiece used, the resulting holding
force during reducing can be higher than with a complete release-and
clamp cycle.
