2 SAFETY
Qualified personnel
The control unit may only be installed, maintained, parameterised and serviced by qualified personnel
with appropriate training. Qualified personnel have to have read and understood the operating instructions. We
recommend having personnel trained by SAV GmbH.
Qualified personnel have to be capable of reading and understanding the information on the display of the control
unit and acting accordingly.
Qualified personnel are, in particular:
Mechanics
Work on the mechanical equipment may only be carried out by a trained mechanic or by personnel under the
instruction and supervision of a trained mechanic.
Electricians
Work on the electrical equipment of the control unit may only be carried our by a qualified electrician or by
personnel under the instruction and supervision of a qualified electrician in accordance with the rules of electri-
cal engineering. Only trained and instructed qualified electricians may carry out work on the control unit and
connect these devices.

Personal protective equipment, safety devices and
safety components
For assembly work, operation, maintenance and service work, the personal protective equipment and protective
clothing required for the task at hand must be worn:
Wear safety goggles
Safety devices must be fitted for all hazard areas where hazards for people and property can arise. If required for
service purposes, these safety devices have to be temporarily released by the machine controller when no hazard
is present.
Safety components must be used wherever damage can be caused by overload. These can be electrical or me-
chanical safety components.
Wear protective gloves
