General safety information

This section contains basic safety information for working with the control unit in conjunction with the connected
magnets. All of the listed information on operation and maintenance of the control unit must be observed.
In addition, the warnings listed with the work steps and instructions must be observed. Failure to observe this
information can result in substantial hazards! The instructions for all other system components also apply without
limitation.
DANGER!
DANGER!
WARNING!
Danger of crushing or injuries from falling or shifting parts!
Danger of electric shock!
Danger of explosion!
Incorrect use of the control unit can result in substantial or even lethal haz-
ards!
The risk is not posed directly by the control unit, though. It is rather a result
of hazards arising from the interaction with production systems and mag-
nets, e.g. that the magnetic attachment of loads is inadvertently released or
set too low!
The control unit must be fully integrated into the control and safety units
of the higher level systems! Loss of energy and malfunctions of the control
unit must trigger emergency stop functions!
Accordingly, the interactions between events and faults in the higher level
systems and the magnetic clamping systems must be considered for the
safety of these systems and processes!
Danger of crushing or injuries from falling or shifting parts!
The automatic continuation of release/clamping functions after a power
failure can lead to sudden, unexpected hazards.
The automatic continuation of release/clamping functions after a power
failure is prohibited, the same applies to automatic restart.
The control unit itself does not execute an automatic restart.
Risk of electric shock!
An electric shock can cause death or serious injury.
For all installation, maintenance and repair work, it has to be ensured
that the power supply for the machine/system to be maintained has been
switched off and secured.
It must be ensured that the machine/system cannot be started up in an
uncontrolled manner by other, possibly networked machines/systems.
