The communications server experiences one or more of these symptoms:
Data Received, Packet Received, and Network Activity LEDs do not indicate
any activity, despite being connected to an operational network.
The console display freezes, and nothing happens when you press the
Return key.
When you try to access the server management interface from a terminal or
a remote location, the server fails to acknowledge the connection attempt.
A server or Ethernet interface module failure has occurred, or the module is
not receiving packets from the network.
Take the following action:
1 Reset the server by pressing the reset switch on the front panel.
2 If resetting the server does not resolve the problem, check the cable,
transceiver, and any other devices associated with connecting the Ethernet
interface module to the network.
Replace any faulty component. If you do not find any faulty network
connection components or if you replace a component but the problem
recurs, replace the Ethernet interface module, as described in "Replacing an
Ethernet Interface Module".
3 If the problem persists, contact your network supplier.
This section lists problems the single-port AUI or RJ-45 Ethernet interface
module can experience while the CS/3000 series server is powered on and
running communications server software. These problems are indicated by
abnormal behavior of front-panel LEDs or Ethernet module LEDs.
Front-panel LED symptoms are described under "Operating Problems".
