3 If you are adding a 16-port asynchronous module, continue with step 4. If
you are replacing one or more modules, you need to remove all of them.
a Mark all cables to indicate where they connect.
b Remove all cable strain relief mechanisms.
Refer to Figure 2-11 on page 2-15 for the location of the cable strain
relief mechanism. Remove the screw that fastens the metal bracket to
the upper portion of the back panel and remove the bracket.
c Uncable all 16-port asynchronous modules.
d Remove the screws holding the upper portion of the back panel.
Using the #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the two screws located toward
the outer edges of the panel, as shown in Figure 5-4.

e Carefully remove each module from its auxiliary processor board
connector.
Grasp the edge of each board and gently pull it up.
f Carefully lift the panel with the modules still fastened to it up and away
from the rest of the chassis.
Be careful not to loosen the three electromagnetic interference (EMI)
clips attached to the upper lip of the panel.
