command does not list control addresses. (Control addresses are

MAC addresses for control frames that go directly to the processor.)
Control addresses are installed in the address table under the
following circumstances:
Spanning tree for the bridge is enabled.
TCMP is enabled on any of the defined trunk groups.
If the system is running in openVLAN mode, two control
addresses are installed, one for spanning tree and one for TCMP.
If the system is running in closedVLAN mode, two control
addresses are installed for each VLAN that is defined.
An IP VLAN interface is defined, a control address exists in the
address table for each port within the associated VLAN.
These control addresses are included in the bridge display address
count field, but are not listed in the bridge port address list. (30038)
Enabling or disabling the Ethernet state of the ports on a backplane
link is now done exclusively from the switch fabric module. The switch
fabric module enables or disables the ports at both ends of the
backplane link including all ports in a trunk. You can no longer change
the Ethernet state of a backplane port on an interface module.
The interface modules no longer list the backplane ports when you

command and all backplane trunking commands are only available
through the switch fabric modules. However, you can still change the

If a slot in the chassis is autoenabled, the system creates a trunk for
that slot (which happens when you reset the switch fabric module)

Ethernet Multilayer Switching Module and the 10-port 100BASE-FX

support three trunk groups instead of four trunk groups.
