Downgrading
Modules From 3.0.5
to 3.0.0 or 3.0.1
In the event that you need to downgrade all modules in a Switch 4007
system to Release 3.0.0 or 3.0.1 (except for EMC boot code which
remains at Release 2.1), follow these steps:
Releases previous to 3.0.0 are not supported on the Switch 4007.
1 From the 3Com Web site, download the Switch 4007 Release Notes for
Release 3.0.0.
Review the software compatibility requirements for each type of module
(for example, some Multilayer Switching Modules may use Release 3.0.1)
and note the software filenames.
2 From the 3Com Web site, download the appropriate software files.
3 Have ready the Release 3.0.0 or 3.0.1 configuration files that you saved
before you upgraded your modules to Release 3.0.5.
You should not have to use them, i.e., the Release 3.0.5 configurations
should work fine after the downgrade to 3.0.0 or 3.0.1, but this is a
precaution.
4 Save your Release 3.0.5 configuration files to a network server as a
precaution, in the event that you want to upgrade your modules back to
Release 3.0.5 at some point.
Your Release 3.0.0 configurations should work fine after an upgrade to
Release 3.0.5, but this is a precaution.
5 Download the appropriate *
in the system.
After each module's download is complete, if you are prompted to reset
the module, enter n (no).
6 From the system prompt, enter:
cb9000> reset module all cold
This command resets all modules simultaneously. After the reset is
complete, your switching modules will be operating at Release 3.0.0 or
3.0.1 (depending on the module) and the EME modules remain operating
at Release 3.0.5. Continue with the next step.
