INSTALL EXHAUST VENT AT CLEARANCES SPECIFIED BY
THE MANUFACTURER.
Most pellet vent pipe requires a minimum of 1" of clear-
■ ■
ance to combustible materials although some can be
installed at 1" clearance.
Follow these instructions along with all local codes re-
■ ■
garding installation of this appliance.
Do NOT use makeshift compromises when installing
■ ■
this appliance, serious consequences may result.

THE CHIMNEY AND CONNECTOR MUST BE MAINTAINED
IN GOOD CONDITION AND KEPT CLEAN.
Pipes and maximum lengths which may be used
The exhaust pipe on all stoves is 2.95" (75 mm) O.D. so the stove
was designed to accommodate a 3" (8 cm) stove pipe adaptor but
the diameters of the pipes depends on the type of installation.
Your installation may require the use of 4" (10 cm) vent as shown
in the table.
TYPE OF INSTALLATION
Maximum length (with three
90° elbows)
For installations more than
4000' (1200 m) above sea level
Maximum number of elbows
Length of horizontal sections
with minimum 3% gradient
a
Losses in pressure associated with a 90° elbow can be
compared to those incurred by 4' (1.2 m) pipe. An in-
spectable union-tee can be considered equivalent to a
90° bend.
For example: if installing a section greater than 20' (6 m) in length
with 3" (8 cm) diameter pipe, calculate the maximum usable length
in the following ways:
- If a maximum of three 90° elbows are used, the maximum
length of the section will be 25' (8 m).
- If a maximum of two 90° elbows are used and bearing in mind
that a 90° bend can be replaced by 3' (1 m) of pipe, the maxi-
mum length of the section will be 25' (8 m) + 3' (1 m) = 28' (9 m).
- If a maximum of one 90° elbows is used and bearing in mind
that a 90° bend can be replaced by 3' (1 m) of pipe, the maxi-
mum length of the section will be 25' (8 m) + 3' (1 m) + 3' (1 m)
= 31' (10 m).
Where 4" (10 cm) diameter pipe must be used, connect it to the
stove flue outlet with a union-tee.

PELLET
STOVE
"T" connector
The use of this type of fitting must allow for the collection of con-
densate mixed with soot, which builds up inside the pipe.
It must also permit periodic cleaning of the flue without the need
to disassemble the pipes.
Single or double clean-out tees may be used.
An example is given below of a flueway connection, which allows
complete cleaning without having to disassemble the pipes.

by reverse drafting of pellet stoves under power failure
conditions or as a result of extreme negative pressure
in the home.
