▼ Temporary Spare Tire
Inspect the tem porary spare tire at least
m onthly to m ake sure it's properly
inflated and stored.
T he tem porary spare tire is easier to
h andle because o f its construction. It is
lighter and sm aller than a conventional
tire and should be used only for an
em ergency and only for a short distance.
U se the tem porary only until the
conventional tire is repaired, w hich should
be as soon as possible.
M aintain its pressure at 420 kPa (60 psi).
& CAUTION
D o n 't use your tem porary spare tire
rim w ith a snow tire or a
conventional tire. N either w ill
properly fit and could dam age both
tire and rim.
T he tem porary spare tire has a tread
life o f up to 5,000 k m (3,000 m iles),
depending on road conditions and
driving habits.
W hen the tread w ear solid-band
indicator appears, replace the tire
w ith the sam e type o f tem porary
spare.

▼ Replacing a Wheel
W hen replacing a w heel, m ake sure the
new one is the sam e as the original factory
w heel in diam eter, rim width, and offset.
Proper tire balancing provides the best
riding com fort and helps reduce tread
wear. O ut-of-balance tires can cause
vibration and uneven wear, such as
cupping and flat spots.
& WARNING
Using a W rong-Sized Wheel:
U sing a w ron g-sized w heel is
dangerous. B rakin g a n d handling
cou ld be affected, leading to loss o f
control a n d an accident. A lways use
w heels o f the co rrect size on y o u r
vehicle.
