To turn off the system , use on e of these
methods:
• Push the O FF end o f the CRU ISE
M A IN switch.
• Slightly depress the brake pedal.
• (M a n u a l tra n s a x le )
D epress the clutch pedal.
T he system is o ff w hen the ignition is off.
C ruise control w ill cancel at about 15
km /h (9 m ph) below the preset speed
or below 40 km /h (25 m ph).

Traction Control System
(TCS)
T he T raction C ontrol System (TCS)
enhances traction and safety by regulating
engine torque. W hen the TCS detects
driving w heel slippage, it lowers engine
torque to prevent loss o f traction.
This m eans that on a slick surface, the
engine adjusts autom atically to provide
optim um pow er to the drive wheels
w ithout causing them to spin and lose
traction.
& WARNING
TCS a n d Unsafe Driving:
The traction control system (TCS)
cannot com pensate f o r unsafe a n d
reckless driving, excessive speed,
tailgating (following a n o th er vehicle
too closely), a n d hydroplaning
(reduced tire frictio n a n d road
contact because o f w ater on the road
surface). You can still have an
accident. So d o n 't rely on the traction
control system a s a substitute f o r safe
driving.
TCS a n d Snow a n d Ice:
D riving w ith out p ro p e r traction
devices on snow a n d ice-covered
roads is dangerous. The traction
control system (TCS) alone cannot
p ro vid e adequate traction a n d you
cou ld still have an accident. Use snow
tires o r tires chains a n d drive at
reduced speeds when roads are
covered w ith ice a n d snow.
