A new CD m ay have rough edges on its
inner and outer perim eters. If a disc
w ith rough edges is used, proper
setting w ill not be possible and the CD
player/changer w ill not play the CD.
R em ove the rough edges in advance by
using a ball-point pen or pencil as
shown below. To rem ove the rough
edges, rub the side o f the pen or pencil
against the inner and outer perim eter o f
the CD.
W hen driving over uneven surfaces, the
sound w ill jum p.
T he CD player/changer has been
designed to play C D s bearing the
identification logo as shown. N o other
discs can be played.

B e sure never to touch the signal
surface w hen handling the CD s. Pick
up a CD by grasping the outer edge or
the edge o f the hole and the o uter edge.
Do not stick paper or tape on the CD.
Avoid scratching the reverse side (the
side w ithout a label).
D ust, finger sm udges, and dirt can
decrease the am ount o f light reflected
from the signal surface, thus affecting
sound quality. If the CD should
becom e soiled, gently w ipe it w ith a
soft cloth from the center o f the CD to
the edge.
Do not use record sprays, antistatic
agents, or household spray cleaners.
Volatile chem icals such as benzine and
thinner can also dam age the surface o f
the CD and m ust not be used. A nything
that can dam age, w arp, or fog plastic
should never be used to clean CDs.
C D s, like traditional audio records, are
m ade o f plastic. To avoid w arping,
keep the CD s in their cases and do not
store them w here they w ill be exposed
to direct sunlight.
T he CD player/changer ejects the CD if
the CD is inserted upside down. Also
dirty and/or defective CD s m ay be
ejected.
8 cm (3 in) C D s and C D accessories
(e.g. 8 cm disc adapter) cannot be used
in the CD player/changer.
