If you m ust leave y our vehicle w ith
another person, such as a parking
attendant, protect item s by locking the
glove box and trunk lid w ith the prim ary
key. Keep that key and give the other
person only the secondary key.
A code num ber is stam ped on the plate
attached to the key set; detach this plate
and store it in a safe place (not in the
vehicle) for use if you need to m ake a
replacem ent key.
A lso w rite dow n the code num ber and
keep it in another safe and handy place,
but not in the vehicle.
If y our key is lost, consult your

num ber ready.

Door Locks

U nattended C hildren a n d Pets:
L eavin g a child o r an anim al
unattended in a p a rk e d vehicle is
dangerous. In hot weather,
tem peratures inside a vehicle can
becom e high enough to cause brain
d am age o r even death. A lw ays take a ll
children a n d anim als w ith you o r
leave a respon sible p erso n w ith them.
Keys a n d Children:
L eavin g children in a vehicle w ith the
ignition key is dangerous. This could
resu lt in som eone being badly injured
o r even killed. They could p la y with
p o w er w indow s o r other controls, or
even m ake the vehicle move. D o n 't
leave the keys in y o u r vehicle with
children.
U nlocked Doors:
Unlocked doors in a m oving vehicle
are dangerous. P assengers can f a ll
o u t i f a d o o r is accidentally opened
a n d can m ore easily be throw n o u t in
an accident. So keep a ll doors locked
when driving.
N O T E
Always rem ove the key from the
ignition sw itch, close all windows, and
lock all doors w hen leaving your
vehicle unattended. This discourages
intruders and thieves.
