▼ Operating the Climate Control
System
O perate the clim ate control system w ith
the engine running.
▼ Clearing the Air Inlet
C lear all obstructions like leaves, snow
and ice from the hood and the air inlet in
the cow ling grille to im prove the system
efficiency.
▼ Foggy Windows
T he w indow s m ay fog up easily in hum id
weather. U se the clim ate control system to
defog the windows.
To help defog the windows, operate the
air conditioner to dehum idify the air.
▼ Outside/Recirculated Air
Position
U se the outside air position in norm al
conditions. T he recirculated air position
can be used tem porarily w hen driving on
dusty roads or for quick cooling o f the
interior.
▼ Parking in Direct Sunlight
If the vehicle has been parked in direct
sunlight during hot w eather, open the
window s to let w arm air escape, then run
the clim ate control system .
▼ Not Using for a Long Period
Run the air conditioner at least once a
m onth to keep internal parts lubricated.

▼ Check the Refrigerant before
Weather Gets Hot
H ave the air conditioner checked before
the w eather gets hot. L ack o f refrigerant
m ay m ake the air conditioner less
efficient. C onsult an A uthorized M azda
D ealer for refrigerant inspection.
The optional air conditioner is filled w ith
R134a, a refrigerant that w ill not dam age
the ozone layer.
If the air conditioner is low on refrigerant
or has a m alfunction, consult an
A uthorized M azda Dealer.
