Royal Mail requirements

Follow Royal Mail requirements to ensure you mail is not delayed or rejected.
Since your postage device (Postal Security Device) is licensed by Royal Mail, you must follow a few basic
requirements.
Mail must have the correct date and postage amount in the postage print.

Always ensure that your postal prints are clear and complete. Poor prints may result in your Postal
l
Authority being unable to offer the service you requested. If prints are illegible, items may be
rejected by your Postal Authority.
If you move to another address, you must update the Postal Authority records. Call your local
l
machine supplier for advice.
Postal printing ink and the tape sheets for putting postage on larger items must conform to postal
l
specifications. For best performance, obtain ink cartridges and tape sheets direct from your
machine supplier.

The meter impression contains elements that identify the mailer and the type of mail.
1. Data matrix barcode - contains postage and tracking information
2. Meter serial number
3. Postage amount
4. Date
5. Class of mail selected
