9.BlindSpotDetection
TheBlindspotdetectionsystemcandetecttrafficsituationsthatcouldposeariskifthedriver
changeslane.Thesetrafficsituationsincludevehiclesapproachingquicklyfrombehindorvehicles
inthedriver'sblindspot.
Thedrivermayfinditdifficulttojudgethesesituations,especiallywhenitisdark.Theradarsensors
detectvehiclesintheblindspotandworkeffectivelyregardlessofthelightingconditions.Inaddition,
theyareabletoreliablydetectsuchsituationsuptoadistanceofapproximately70mawayand
irrespectiveoftheweatherconditions.

Whenavehicleisapproachingquicklyormovesintotheblindspotofthedriver'svehicle,thesystem
assiststhedriverbycorrectlyjudgingthesituation.Ifthelanenexttothedriver'svehicleisoccupied,
theradarsensorsdetectthevehiclesintheneighboringlane.
Thecontrolunits(radarsensors)fortheBlindspotdetection(SWW)arelocatedundertherear
bumper.

ThecontrolunitfortheBlindspotdetection(SWW)(primary)isinstalledontherightandthecontrol
unitfortheBlindspotdetection(SWW2)(secondary)isinstalledontheleft.
Whenavehicleisdetectedandthesystemisactivated,thedriverisinformedofthesituationbyan
unobtrusiveindicatorintheexteriormirror.Byhavingthisinformationbeforemakingalanechange
maneuver,thedrivercanconfidentlyprepareforthelanechangeandavoidcriticalsituationsfrom
