G12RearSeatEntertainment 1.Introduction 1.1.History Therewereanumberofinnovationsintermsofequipmentandoperationintherearseat entertainmentsystemfortheF01/F02.2differentequipmentspecificationswereavailable: TheRearSeatEntertainment(SA 6FG)andtheRearSeatEntertainmentProfessional(SA 6FH). Twofoldingdisplayswitharesolutionof800x480pixelsandascreensizeof8“(SA 6FG)or 9.2“(SA 6FH)withintegratedinfraredtransmitterunitforwirelessheadphoneswereusedin aBMWvehicleforthefirsttime. Theinfraredtransmitterunitfortheheadphoneswasreplacedby2radiointerfacesforconnection ® of2wirelessheadphones(KLEER standard)withtheF01/F02LCIinJuly2012. Thesystemiscontrolledbyaradioremotecontrolor,inthecaseoftheHighsystem,viatherear- compartmentcontrollerFCON. RSEcontrolunitswereintegratedintheMOSTbusforbothsystems. InnovationsfortheF01/F02includedthefollowing: • Independentoperationofdriver'sandpassenger'ssideswithrearseatentertainmentsystem. • Navigationin2Dand3Dwithnavigationtransferofdestinationinputtothedriver. Routeguidancestartedafteracceptanceofthesuggestionbythedriver. • BMWOnlineandBMWInternetimplementedasoptionalequipmentintheRSEsystem. • UseoftheGracenote©databasewithdatafromtheHeadUnitHigh. • USBinterfaceinthecontrolunitoftheRSEsystemavailableforcustomerusewithaudioand videoplaybackfromUSBstick. • Azoningconcepthasbeenimplementedsince07/2012.Theconceptprovidesaclear structureformediaoperationinthevehicle.Therearesourceswhichcanbeaccessedonly atthefrontintheheadunit,sourceswhichcanbeaccessedonlyintherearintheRSEand sourcesthatcanaccessedbybothoperatingunits(commonmediaserver,broadcast,etc.).
