Aftertherolloverprotectionsystemistriggered,theignitionelementsandthetriggeringsystemsare inactive.Inthiscase,therolloverprotectionsystemmustbecompletelyreplaced. Therolloverprotectionsystemmayonlyberemovedandinstalledorreplacedasawhole Removingandinstallingorreplacingindividualcomponentsisnotpermitted. Removethelockingclipatthetopoftherolloverbarusingasuitabletool. Pulltherolloverbarupwardstothelimitstop.Metallicnoisesshouldbeclearlyheard(pawlsliding overthetoothedbar). Itmustbepossibletopulltherolloverbaroutslightlyandsnapitintotheendposition. Retract Pulltheinnerprofileupwardstotheendstopandhold. Inserta6mmallenkeythroughthehole(seediagram"G14rolloverprotectionsystem",index4) intothepawl,turn90degreesandhold.Thisunlocksthepawlandreleasestherolloverbaron thetoothedbar. Slowlylowertherolloverbardownwardsasfaraspossibleandremovetheallenkey. AttentionInnoeventshouldyoudroptherollbarasthiswilldamagethelowersupport Presstherolloverbardownwardsandsecurethelockingclip. Clipthecoversintoplace. Result • Iftherolloverbardoesnotclipintotheendpositionorifitcannotbepulledoutslightly,the rolloverprotectionsystemmustbereplaced. • Iftherolloverbardoesnotslidedownwardswithoutanyresistance,therolloverprotection systemmustbereplaced. Thesechecksmustalwaysbecarriedoutonbothsides. UnlikewithpreviousactiverolloverprotectionsystemsonBMWconvertibles,thepreloaded compressionspringsinthissystemcannotbereleasedbymeansofatesttriggering.
