Estimationofdisturbanceforce
Anaccelerationorbrakeforcemustbecalculatedinordertobeabletoapplytheprioritized
longitudinalaccelerationwiththeassistanceoftheactuators.Example:moredrivingpowerisrequired
toachievethesamelongitudinalaccelerationduringanuphilljourneythanontheflat.Ifthevehicle
needstodeceleratewhentravellinguphill,lessbrakingforceisrequiredcomparedtodrivingonthe
flat.Inordertobeabletocorrectlycalculatetheforcesrequired,theprecisevalueofthegradientand
alsotheweightofthevehicle,therollingresistance,thedragandotheraccelerationforcesmustbe
known.Asasensorsystemthatcanmonitorallofthesedisturbancesdoesnotexist,anestimated
valueiscalculatedinsteadbycomparingthefollowingtwovariables:
•
actualmovementvariablesofthevehicle
•
anticipatedmovementvariablesofthevehicleasaresultofthedrivingpowerandbraking

19.2.2.Activationoftheactuators
Drivingpowerand/orbrakingforcesmustbeintroducedinordertoproducethelongitudinal
accelerationcalculatedbythecontrolfunctionsandthuscompensatefordisturbingforcesacting
onthevehicle.Toacceleratethevehicle,asetpointvalueforthedriveisusuallytransmitted.In
