Error codes fall into two categories, those reporting problems in the
printer engine and those reporting problems with the software.
For all errors:
1. Record the displayed error code and message.
2. If the code is listed in the tables, carry out the suggested action(s).
3. Press the RESET button to clear the error code.
4. If the problem persists, power the printer off then on. See "Switching
the printer on and off" on page 3-2.
5. If the problem persists, contact your dealer for service or advice
quoting the error code number and message.
Pre-/Post-processor errors are reported to the GUI by the PLB system.
As a result, error codes are not displayed on the GUI for these errors.
Instead, the status of pre-/post-processing equipment is displayed on
either the GUI print line or status bar. For further information, refer to
"Print line" on page 2-20 and "Status bar" on page 2-23, or to the
instructions provided with the equipment.
Each error is described with a possible solution. If the solution fails to
cure the problem contact your dealer for service or advice.
The printer cannot detect any more paper.
1. Load new paper (see "Paper Loading" on page 5-3).
2. Press RESET on the touch screen and then set the printer to
ready.
The supply unit is not ready.
1. Check the pre-processing unit.
2. Press RESET on the touch screen and then set the printer to
ready.
The amount of paper on the stacker table exceeds the given capac-
ity (see "Removing Paper" on page 5-12).
If you would like to change this consumable now then go to the
Consumables view and press the Change button to replace roller
unit B[R1b].
If you would like to change this consumable now then go to the
Consumables view and press the Change button to replace Roller
unit A[R1a].
If you would like to change this consumable now then go to the
Consumables view and press the Change button to replace Toner
[Ka].
If you would like to change this consumable now then go to the
Consumables view and press the Change button to replace Toner
[Kb].
