7.4.3.2 Changing the Initial U-Boot Password

Procedure
Step 1 Log in to the iBMC CLI.
For details, see
Step 2 Restart the iBMC.
ipmcset -d reset
The command output is as follows:
This operation will reboot IPMC system. Continue? [Y/N]:
Step 3 Enter y.
The system restarts.
Step 4 Press Ctrl+B immediately when the following information is displayed:
Hit 'ctrl + b' to stop autoboot: 1
Step 5 Enter the default password (Admin@9000).
The U-Boot interface is displayed.

The password must meet the following requirements:
l Contain 8 to 20 characters.
l Contain at least one space or one of the following special characters:
`~!@#$%^&*()-_=+\|[{}];:'",<.>/?
l Contain at least two types of the following characters:
Lowercase letters a to z
Uppercase letters A to Z
Digits 0 to 9
l Cannot be the same as the user name or the user name in reverse order.
l Contain at least two new characters when compared with the old password.
l U-Boot is a kind of underlying software used to configure basic settings, for example, initialize
hardware devices and set up memory space mapping, to prepare for commissioning the OS.
l For security purposes, change the initial password upon the first login and periodically change the
password.
l You are advised to use a password that meets complexity requirements or to enable the password
complexity check function.
l The password complexity check function is enabled by default.
