Changing
Threshold and
Style
N2 or FN
Connection
In order to change the FN communication Threshold and Style, complete
the following steps:
1.
Select FN configuration from the Command menu.
2.
Now set the Threshold and Style as required. See the Commissioning
and Troubleshooting Procedures section in this document for
procedures on how to change the defaults.
3. Select OK to save changes.
4.
Select the FN configuration again from the Command menu to verify
changes were saved. Select Cancel.
The "Fire" NCM type can now support both N2 based IFC-1010 and
IFC-2020 fire panels as well as FN based IFC-1010 and IFC-2020 fire
panels as a Secondary (ancillary) Reporting device (when an NCM 350 is
used).
Fire panels must be defined as follows for correct operation:
1.
For the Fire NCM type, Trunk 1—N2 connection, Trunk 2—Fire-Net
connection, define both trunks as N2 in the global definition.
2.
For the General with NT NCM type, the Trunk 1—N2 connection,
Trunk 2 connection is not supported for fire panels.
3.
For the UL 864 Fire NCM type and Fire NCM type on old hardware
(100 and 400 Series NCM hardware), there are no changes.
4.
The NCM hardware to be connected to the FN must be configured by
NC Setup like the UL 864 Fire NCM (except that the NCM type will
be Fire NCM, not UL 864 Fire NCM), and must use a Fire-Net MIB
card.
The FN circuit must only be required to operate as Style 4, but it can still
be physically wired as either Style 4 or Style 7. The NCM must be
connected alone at the end of the FN circuit chain if Style 4 wiring is used.
It is not necessary to use a UPS at the NCM or the special UL 864 Fire
Recognized NCM hardware since the loss of the NCM will not affect
communication between primary fire alarm panels or displays when
connected this way.
