Phase sequence indicator

A phase sequence indicator is available to show phases
are in line. For voltage indication a single pole voltage
indicator is available, see par. 4.6.
The phase sequence indicator comprises two measuring
rods, a voltmeter and a set of connecting wires. One of the
measuring rods is fitted with a connector into which the
voltmeter fits. The voltmeter has two pins which fit into a
230 V/50 Hz wall socket.
The voltmeter has a scale on which the rated operating
voltage is indicated. Different voltmeters are available for
different operating voltages.
Testing the phase sequence indicator
Proceed as follows:
1.
Remove the voltmeter from the connector on the
measuring rod.
2.
Insert the voltmeter in a wall socket which is known to
be live.
3.
Check that the voltmeter shows full-scale deflection.
4.
Refit the voltmeter to the measuring rod.

ARNING
Clean and dry the phase sequence indicator
thoroughly before using it.
A red ring on each measuring rod indicates the
safe area where the rod can be held; never
place your hand between the red ring and the
switchgearwhile measuring.
