4.2 Switching

Magnefix switchgear is intended for switching rated
voltages and currents. Switching operations are always
triggered by fitting or removing switch caps using the
springing handle.
The procedures for switching on and off are detailed below.

Switching on

Procedure for switch caps

ARNING
Never fit a switch cap if the current indicator
window shows a red flag.
1.
Check that the overcurrent indicator (a) has been reset
(no red flag is shown).
2.
Put a switch cap on the springing handle until the
spring catch (b) engages.
3.
Remove the cover from the cast resin insulated
member of the relevant switch in the fixed section.
4.
Position the switch cap on the cast resin insulated
member of the switch, with the spring-mounted cam
located to the left, until the cap abuts the stop.
5.
Next, push in the handle firmly.
 The moment the force exerted on the handle
exceeds a certain value, the resistance of the
spring cam is overcome and the cap is switched on.
