4.6.1

Voltage indication

1.
Screw the probe onto the grip; if necessary, screw an
adapter onto the probe.
2.
Bring the probe into contact with the part of the
switchgear to be tested.
3.
Watch the indicator lamp.
 If the indicator lamp lights up, a voltage is present.
 If the indicator lamp does not light up, the voltage
on the tested part will be less than 0.4 times the
rated voltage indicated on the voltage tester.

System 'dead' indication

ARNING
NEVER work on unearthed switchgear, even if
the voltage tester indicates no voltage.
Always put protection caps on all open cast
resin insulated members that must not be
accessed straight away.
Procedure:
1.
Screw the probe onto the grip; if necessary, screw an
adapter onto the probe.
2.
Test the voltage indicator.
3.
Bring the probe of the voltage indicator into contact
with the live part to be tested.
4.
Check that the voltage indicator shows NO voltage
present.
5.
Repeat this procedure for all phases to be tested.
6.
Test the voltage indicator once again.
Using the single-pole voltage indicator.
