Floor

General
Seal cable entries as perfectly as possible.
Cable trench

Fill the cable trench with gritty sand.

Cover the sand with a suitable material (e.g.
polyurethane foam which has a closed cellular
structure).
Ventilation:
Left: Unsealed floor, risk of contamination.
Right: The cable trench is filled with sand and the
floor of the switchroom is covered.
Cable cellar
Thoroughly seal the opening between the switchroom and
the cable cellar using polyurethane foam for instance (after
providing a base for it).

Ceiling

To avoid condensation dripping down:

Fix a thermal insulation layer to the ceiling.

If possible, leave a ventilation space between the
insulation layer and roof.
