system before performing this procedure.
The system supports a variety of DIMM configurations that can include quad-rank DIMMs,
dual-rank DIMMs, or single-rank DIMMs. When replacing or upgrading a DIMM on the server,
consider the following:
Description
Learn the location of the DIMM slots in relation to the
CPUs.
Learn the rules to follow when installing DIMMs in
slots.
Understand the classification rank labels on DIMMs.
Review how the system detects and logs ECC fault
information.
Identify and remove the faulty DIMMs from the server.
Install replacement or new DIMMs.
