Field-Replaceable Units
FRU Description
■ Four drive configuration does not include DVD
drive
Fan tray 0 Contains three fans for cooling the motherboard
assembly.
Fan tray 1 Contains two fans for cooling media bay assembly
components.
Fan tray 2 Single fan for cooling DIMMs.
LED board Contains the push-button circuitry and LEDs that are
displayed on the bezel of the box.
Media bay assembly Bay that houses the drives and optical media drive.
Motherboard Provides connectors for the DIMMs, CPUs, PCIe2
assembly risers, and other components.
Optical media drive Optical media drive allows you to read optical media
like CDs and DVDs.
PCI mezzanine Houses and connects the top PCIe2 cards.
PCIe2 cards Optional add-on cards that can expand the functionality
of the server.
PCIe2 risers Houses and connects the bottom PCIe2 cards.
Power distribution Provides the main 12V power interconnect between the
board (PDB) power supplies and the other boards.
Power supply unit Two concurrent maintenance DC or AC powered power
(PSU) supplies.
SAS controller SAS controller HBA manages the internal drives and
HBA optional external storage devices.
Top Cover Covers the top of the server and contains service labels
that provide quick reference information for removing
components. The top cover requires a pen to remove,
and it does not power off the server when removed.
