TMDS Output Format
The TMDS output format has three components:
Video format — Either DVI or HDMI
Color space — RGB 4:4:4, YCbCr 4:2:2, or YUV 4:4:4
Quantization range — Either Full (0-255) or Limited (16-235)
By default, the output format is automatically configured for Auto, which forces RGB 4:4:4
Full, with the video format dependent on the source signal and sink capabilities.
This can be forced using SIS commands (see
PCS (see the DTP2 T 204 PCS Help File).
Color Bit Depth and Deep Color Support
If the incoming signal is using deep color, and the sink does not support it, the color depth
is truncated to the next best color depth as reported in the sink EDID. A 12-bit color depth
can be truncated to 10-bit, 12-bit to 8-bit, or 10-bit to 8-bit.
This adjustment can be changed via SIS commands (see
page 32) or PCS (see the DTP2 T 204 PCS Help File)
NOTE: This adjustment always reduces the overall data rate of the signal.
There are two options for color depth and deep color support:
Automatic — By monitoring the EDID of the sink, the DTP2 T 204 switcher determines
the best color depth that is supported by the sink.
Force 8-bit — This mode sets the switcher to output video with 8-bit color depth.

Contact/Tally Modes

The Contact/Tally ports can be configured via PCS to operate in four modes to configure
and monitor peripheral devices, such as table-mounted push-button devices, that are
connected to any of the Contact/Tally ports.
Default mode —
Contact/Tally inputs 1 through 4 are grouped together and are mutually exclusive.
This means that when one input in the group is selected, all other inputs are
deselected (only one input can be selected at a time).
Inputs 5 and 6 function independently and must be configured separately via PCS
in order to perform any action.
Advanced mode — All Contact/Tally ports are independent and must be configured
separately to perform any function.
1-4 are input switching, 5 & 6 are grouped —
Contact/Tally inputs 1 through 4 are grouped and mutually exclusive.
Inputs 5 and 6 are grouped together and are mutually exclusive to each other.
1-4 are input switching, 5 & 6 represent single switches —
Contact/Tally inputs 1 through 4 are grouped and mutually exclusive.
Inputs 5 and 6 are in single switch mode, meaning that when the contact circuit is
closed (for example, when a button on the contact closure device is pressed), the
tally pin always shorts to ground and the talley indicator device is activated).
To select the Contact/Tally port mode, see the DTP2 T 204 PCS Help File.
